So, I was supposed to post a new story prompt today, which would have marked my return to writerly duties on this site.
However,
I did not do that.
I'm not sure whether it is because today was a relatively busy day when it came to writing and submitting, at least in my coursework, or if it is because I have become engrossed in John Steinbeck's Cannery Row, which is -- coincidentally -- another piece that came my way due to classes.
On a quick note, I'm really enjoying it. I've read maybe fourteen chapters so far, with eighteen still left to go.
On a second, less quick note, the word for this prompt would have been entropy.

Man, Ethan, you really slammed this one right into me.
I'm not saying that the word "entropy" is an impossible-to-use word for the prompts I do, but I definitely had some difficulties coming up with a quality idea for it. I'm not going to stake the claim that all of my story prompts have been of an excellent quality, but I wanted this one to be. I wanted to ring in the first prompt of 2021 with a hell of a better idea than the one that came to me when I read entropy.
But you can't always get what you want, and I am way out of practice. I've never seen the movie Unforgiven, but that is exactly how I felt. I think.
Anyway, that's all for now. I plan to do an update soon to wrap up the Bestiary posts, as I am just missing Tala's entry. But, until then, it's time to rest.
